A California oral and maxillofacial surgery practice recently suffered a cybersecurity incident potentially involving patient information.

Tieu Dental Corporation, which has locations in Campbell and Morgan Hill, Calif., said in a website notice March 5 that an unauthorized actor accessed its network between July 28 and July 29, and may have also acquired files containing protected health information.

The data that may have been affected includes full names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, medical records, treatment plans, prescriptions and health insurance information.

The practice said there is no evidence that any information has been misused as a direct result of the incident.

The incident was reported to the California attorney general March 5.
