Here are three company layoffs Becker’s has reported on in recent months:

1. Dental insurance company Liberty Dental Plans laid off 95 employees April 6. The company decided to contract out operations, leading to the job cuts, according to a Feb. 5 WARN notice filed with the Florida Department of Commerce. Of the 95 layoffs, 63 are member service representatives. Other positions being impacted include supervisors of member services, data entry clerks and claims referral specialists.

2. Dental benefits provider BeneCare Dental Plans laid off 50 employees at its Worcester, Mass., office. The company submitted a WARN notice to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Dec. 2, which stated that the layoffs would take place from Jan. 31 to March 31.

3. GotaDental, a dental equipment supplier in Cabot, Ark., was forced to lay off more than half of its employees earlier this month after a fire caused roughly $2 million in damages to its building. The company said it may not be able to keep its remaining staff due to the financial losses from the fire. The company has requested donations to support its staff, the rebuilding of the business and the replacement of its equipment.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
