Michael Durbin, DDS, was recently elected president of the American Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Durbin operates Durbin Orthodontics in Des Plaines, Ill. He has served as a member of the AAO Board of Trustees and as a liaison to the organization’s Council on Government Advocacy, Political Action Committee and Committee on Conferences and Meetings, according to a May 6 news release. He also chaired the AAO’s COVID-19-Task Force to provide guidance to orthodontics offices during the pandemic.
Dr. Durbin is a past president of the AAO Donated Orthodontic Services Program, which provides orthodontic treatment to low-income children. He also served as president of the Chicago Dental Society in 2023.
Dr. Durbin received the Raymond George Sr. Award for Outstanding Donated Orthodontic Service in 2022.
