Verber Dental Group, which has 14 locations in Pennsylvania, recently suffered a data breach that may have involved protected health information.
The dental group identified unusual activity within its network Jan. 27, according to a May 8 website notice. An investigation determined that certain data may have been accessed or acquired without authorization, including names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, medical information and health insurance information.
Shamis & Gentile, a class action law firm that specializes in data breaches, launched an investigation into the incident May 11.
