Texas dentist to retire after 5+ decades in the industry

Amp Miller III, DDS, is set to retire after serving as a faculty member at the Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas for 53 years. 

During his tenure at the school, Dr. Miller served as interim assistant department head of comprehensive dentistry, chair of restorative dentistry, director of curriculum and interim associate dean for clinical affairs, according to a May 7 news release from the dental school. 

Over his more than 50 years of service, Dr. Miller has taught thousands of dental students. He was named to Texas A&M Dentistry’s Hall of Fame in 2025, and was named Teacher of the Year five separate times. 

Dr. Miller will officially retire May 31, the release said.
