Four things to know:
1. Per the agreement, Straumann will pay Align $35 million.
2. The two companies have signed a nonbinding letter of intent for a five-year global development and distribution agreement in which Straumann will distribute 5,000 iTero Element scanners.
3. Align and Straumann are discussing the possibility of offering iTero users access to Straumann’s prosthetic and surgical planning platforms.
4. If the companies do not enter the development and distribution agreement with 90 days of the settlement effective day, Straumann will pay Align an additional $16 million.
