Minnesota is currently the highest-paying state for dental assistants, according to new data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics: 

The agency updated its salary data May 15 to reflect 2025 information.

Here are 10 states with the highest salaries for dental assistants:

1. Minnesota: $64,740

2. District of Columbia: $63,360

3. Oregon: $60,110

4. New Hampshire: $57,200

5. Maine: $57,140

6. Washington: $56,680

7. Massachusetts: $56,640

8. North Dakota: $56,450

9. Alaska: $55,220

10. California: $54,710
