Dental technology is having a regulatory moment in 2026, with three technologies securing FDA clearance so far this year, including two AI-powered platforms and a first-of-its-kind dental MRI.

Here are three dental-related FDA approvals, as reported by Becker’s in 2026:

  1. Dental technology company 3Shape received FDA approval for Dx Software, its dental AI platform.
  2. Dover, Del.-based Orca Dental AI, an AI-powered orthodontic imaging company, received FDA clearance for 3D imaging.
  3. Dentsply Sirona and Siemens Healthineers secured FDA clearance for the first-of-its-kind dental-dedicated MRI in the U.S.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
