Several cities in California have the highest salaries for dental hygienists, according to new data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The agency updated its salary data May 15 to reflect 2025 information.
Here are the top five metropolitan and non-metropolitan areas with the highest annual salaries for dental hygienists:
1. San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont, Calif.: $180,520
2. San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, Calif.: $142,850
3. Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, Wash.: $141,230
4. Santa Rosa-Petaluma, Calif.: $137,050
5. Napa, Calif.: $131,610
