Several cities in California and Minnesota have the highest salaries for dental assistants, according to new data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The agency updated its salary data May 15 to reflect 2025 information.
Here are the top five metropolitan and non-metropolitan areas with the highest annual salaries for dental assistants:
1. San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, Calif.: $71,150
2. Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington, Minn.-Wis.: $67,420
3. San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont, Calif.: $64,900
4. Santa Rosa-Petaluma, Calif.: $62,500
5. Rochester, Minn.: $61,860
