A South Carolina dental practice was placed on lockdown after suitcases left near the front door led to a bomb threat investigation, WIS reported June 29.
The Columbia Police Department and Columbia Fire Department responded to a call of a suspicious package on the morning of June 29. Two suitcases were found in a bush by the dental practice’s entrance, leading to a lockdown of nearby buildings and roads.
The lockdown lasted for more than an hour before a man arrived on scene to claim the suitcases. Police officers searched the suitcases and determined no dangerous items were inside and that there was no threat to the public.
Charges are not expected to be filed.
