Andrew Smith plans to step down as CEO of the Association of Dental Support Organizations at the end of 2026.
Mr. Smith, who stepped into his role in 2021, announced his departure on LinkedIn Aug. 28.
“When I joined ADSO nearly six years ago, there was a lot to get done, and I’m proud of the work that the board, the great team at ADSO, and I have accomplished,” he said. “At that time, the dental industry was not seen as essential health care. Together, not only have we changed that perception, but we have ensured the DSO industry is stronger than ever and continues to grow to new heights.”
Mr. Smith will continue to serve as CEO through Dec. 31 while the ADSO Board of Directors searches for a replacement. The organization said it will provide updates on the leadership transition as appropriate, according to a news release.
At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
