Danaher dental sales dip 3 percent in Q2: 5 notes

For the second quarter of 2019, Danaher Corp. saw its sales increase 3.5 percent year over year, according to the company’s financial statement released July 18.

Five notes:

1. Net sales for the company topped $51.6 billion for the second quarter. Danaher reported that organic sales in the quarter grew 5.5 percent and acquired assets had a positive 1 percent impact.

2. Within the company’s dental segment, revenue totaled $7.1 billion, representing a 3 percent decline year over year.

3. During the second quarter, Danaher spun-off its dental segment. The separation will be complete in the second half of 2019.

4. Danaher reported that revenue for its diagnostics business line grossed $16.8 billion, increasing 4.5 percent year over year.

5. The company’s life sciences segment saw a 6.5 percent increase year over year in revenue, topping $17.1 billion.
