Ohio dentist indicted in $1.7M tax evasion scheme

A Lima, Ohio-based dentist has been charged with three counts of tax evasion, according to limaohio.com.

Jeffrey Blandford, DDS, of Blandford Dental Center, was charged in federal court Sept. 5. The U.S. Attorney’s Office of Northern District of Ohio claims Dr. Blandford underreported his income by more than $1.7 million.

Investigators allege Dr. Blandford earned $491,613 in 2013; however, the dentist reported his taxable income was $106,972. In 2014, Dr. Blandford stated his income was $148,236, but investigators claim his actual taxable income was $700,150. Then in 2015, Dr. Blandford said his income was $91,614, while investigators claim it was $899,560.
