With funding help from the Black Hills United Way Reads program, Delta Dental will provide regular checkups, fillings and crowns for an estimated 50 children by Sept. 20.

Some students need extra time to eat their lunches because of untreated dental problems, Robbinsdale Elementary’s school nurse, Sateera Thompsen, RN, told KOTA TV. “That is time they’re not learning. When kids aren’t in school learning then we try to problem solve how we can get the kids back in class.”

Delta Dental will visit the school again in January 2020 to provide more free dental examinations.
