The $79 million was distributed between 1,700 nationwide programs and assisted 11 million people.

About half of the 2018 outreach went to dental treatment initiatives, Steven R. Olson, president and CEO of Delta Dental Plans Association, said in the news release, adding that this was indicative of “Americans’ tremendous need for access to oral healthcare.”

Delta Dental increased access to oral healthcare through direct programming and financial support of dental workforce education, treatment to underserved children and adults, and expanded oral health awareness.
