After receiving a report of fraudulent prescription activity at a Newbury Park dental practice, police conducted an investigation ending in the arrest of Kristina Vargas. The employee allegedly used a dentist’s information to obtain the muscle relaxant carisoprodol for herself since 2018.
Ms. Vargas was arrested for allegedly obtaining a controlled substance by fraud, forgery and commercial burglary. She is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 17.
