NADG converts closed dental offices to COVID-19 testing sites

Pittsburgh-based North American Dental Group intends to use hundreds of dental offices that are currently closed as COVID-19 testing sites, according to an April 29 news release.

For the program’s pilot, tests will initially be provided for symptomatic and high-risk patients at an NADG-affiliated dental office. The pilot program will use the swab test and switch over to the 5-minute Abbott test once that testing system is more widely available.

NADG anticipates that the testing program will be rolled out to hundreds of its affiliated dental offices across 15 states in May. NADG plans to establish guidelines for both this interim strategy and the more permanent point-of-service strategy.
