The Freeman, Grant, Franklin Scholarship pays tribute to Drs. Robert Tanner Freeman, George Franklin Grant and Dolores Mercedes Franklin, the release said. All three were prominent Black figures in the dental school’s history. Colgate contributed $210,000 to enable the scholarship, and a student starting in the 2021 academic year will be its first recipient.
