Dr. Henschel’s appointment as AEGD program director and associate professor of clinical community oral health took effect Jan. 1.
Prior to Penn Dental Medicine, Dr. Henschel worked at New York City-based New York University College of Dentistry, where he served as clinical assistant professor in the department of oral maxillofacial pathology, radiology and medicine.
In 2020, Penn Dental was awarded a $2.1 million grant over five years from the Health Resources and Services Administration in support of the new AEGD program, which will aim to educate residents in the care of vulnerable and underserved patients. The program anticipates its inaugural class of residents will begin July 2022.
