5 dentists making headlines

From a large sinkhole forcing multiple practices to close to new practices opening, here are the latest dentists making the news:

1. Akam Muhammad, DDS, is leading Aspen Dental’s 25th Missouri practice, located in Blue Springs.

2. The discovery of a large sinkhole prompted the temporary closure of two dental offices in Bristol, Tenn. The offices of Jason Pittman, DDS, and Glenn Vance Jr., DDS, were deemed unfit and unsafe to occupy while engineers investigated the area.

3. Brian Heck, DDS, of Heck Family Dentistry has purchased Enhance Dental Care from Patrick Moriarty, DDS. The separate Lawrence, Kan.-based dental practices have merged and are constructing a new practice called the Kansas Center for Sedation Dentistry.
