The new OSHA workplace emergency temporary standard requires healthcare settings to conduct hazard assessments and create a written plan to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace. It also requires employers to provide personal protective equipment to some employees and establishes social distancing rules, among other regulations.
Dental offices that would most likely be affected by the standard include hospital-based oral surgery practices or offices that provide care for COVID-19 patients.
