A new framework for Congressional Democrats’ proposed reconciliation package shared Oct. 28 does not include expanded dental benefits under Medicare, The Hill reported Oct. 28.

The original $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill sought to expand vision, hearing and dental benefits under Medicare. Efforts to accelerate the dental benefits expansion began after CMS officials projected that it would take several years to implement.

Hearing benefits would be expanded under the most recent version of the bill, but not dental or vision.

The Medicare expansions were reportedly scaled back as President Joe Biden seeks to gain support for the spending package.
