The certification is an initiative by the Dental Assisting National Board and the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention. It is the first clinically focused dental infection control certification in the U.S., according to a Jan. 5 news release from the agencies.
The designation was awarded to 126 professionals Dec. 29 through a special testing event. The certification will officially launch in the spring.
