1. Meet the CFOs of top DSOs: CFOs play a critical role in the success of DSOs as the organizations grow their talent and expand their footprints. Becker’s compiled information about the CFOs that lead nine of the largest U.S. DSOs.

2. Dozens of guns found in New York dental office basement, dentist charged: New York dentist Paul Carey, DDS, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon after police found 20 illegal guns in the basement of his dental office, ABC7 NY reported Feb. 17. Eighteen of the 20 weapons were “ghost guns,” untraceable guns assembled by the user. Investigators also found seven silencers, 61 high-capacity magazines and about 3,000 rounds of ammunition.

3. Voluntary workforce reduction of 3,300 dental hygienists since 2020: 7 new findings: As of August 2021, less than half of dental hygienists who left employment early in the pandemic had returned to the workforce, according to research published in The Journal of Dental Hygiene. COVID-19 has exacerbated a voluntary reductions in the workforce by 3,300 dental hygienists (1.6 percent).
