Age breakdown of female dentists

Female dentists tend to be younger than male dentists, with 21.5 percent of women being over the age of 55 compared to 45.2 percent of male dentists.

This data, published in January 2022, comes from a master file created by the American Dental Association based on information about the dentist population gathered from 2001-21.

Age breakdown of female dentists in 2021:

Under 35 — 24.1 percent

35 to 44 — 31.2 percent

45 to 54 — 23.3 percent

55 to 64 — 15.9 percent

65 and older — 5.6 percent
