The amendments filed by Mr. Sanders June 8 aims to expand access to dental and oral care to veterans under the Honoring Our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics Act.
Amendment 5074 tasks the Department of Veterans Affairs secretary with providing dental care to all covered veterans that do not already get dental services. In addition, the amendment creates a program to educate veterans on dental health and a student debt repayment program for dental professionals who serve veterans at VA dental clinics.
Currently, many veterans are not eligible for care or lack access through the VA, according to a June 9 news release.
