University of Pikeville names 1st dental school dean

The University of Pikeville (Ky.) recently appointed Pamela Sparks-Stein, DMD, dean of its upcoming College of Dental Health.

Dr. Sparks-Stein is currently the division chief of dental public health at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in Lexington. In addition to educational roles, Dr. Sparks-Stein has 13 years of experience working in private practice, according to a Sept. 27 news release.

The University of Pikeville was given $25 million to establish a dental school in May.
