Dr. Guesmia’s staff allegedly used an electronic prescription system to obtain the drugs after Dr. Guesmia gave his credentials to a staff member, who transmitted oxycodone prescriptions to several pharmacies and retrieved them for personal use, according to the Justice Department.
As part of the settlement, Dr. Guesmia admitted he failed to monitor prescriptions written using his credentials, according to the Justice Department.
Dr. Guesmia surrendered his Drug Enforcement Agency Registration and has agreed not to seek a renewal for at least five years.
