Here are the three bills’ aims for dentistry in Illinois.

1. Requiring dental insurance carriers to spend a minimum of 80 percent of premium dollars on patient care and not on administrative costs, salaries and profits.

2. Increasing transparency of dental plans when leasing to dental networks and giving dentists the ability to negotiate.

3. Banning virtual credit card fees to keep reimbursement amounts at the negotiated rate and not lower.

The package is sponsored by Representative Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz and Senator Laura Fine and is supported by the Illinois State Dental Society.
