ADA exec testifies before Senate subcommittee on state of oral health

Marko Vujicic, PhD, chief economist and vice president of the Health Policy Institute for the American Dental Association, recently testified during a Senate meeting about the state of oral healthcare in the U.S.

He joined three other panelists to give written and spoken testimony during a meeting for the Subcommittee on Health Care of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee in Washington, D.C. The hearing was called “An Oral Health Crisis: Identifying and Addressing Health Disparities.”

Mr. Vujicic’s testimony focused on the state of oral healthcare in the U.S. and ways to improve treatment, according to an April 3 news release. Some of the topics covered include oral healthcare trends, the effects of poor oral health on the economy, challenges facing rural communities and considerations for policy makers.
