DentaQuest urges Medicaid, CHIP patients to visit dentist amid redetermination process

DentaQuest, a dental benefits provider, urged patients enrolled in Medicaid and CHIP to visit a dentist as states review enrollment to determine eligibility.

The Medicaid eligibility redetermination process began April 1 after the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency ended April 10. States have 14 months to review whether Medicaid enrollees are still eligible for the program, according to an April 20 news release. 

Recent data from the CareQuest Institute for Oral Health found that more than 14 million adults under Medicaid could lose their dental coverage as a result of this process.
