8 resources practice owners are using to recruit staff

Online recruitment websites, word of mouth and recruiting from local dental hygiene or assistant programs are the three methods dental practice owners use the most to recruit staff, according to a recent poll by the American Dental Association Health Policy Institute.

The poll was taken as part of the ADA’s monthly “Economic Outlook and Emerging Issues in Dentistry” report for the week of June 12. 

Here are eight tools that dental practice owners are utilizing to recruit staff:

Online recruitment websites: 79.5 percent

Word of mouth: 79.3 percent

Recruited from local hygiene or assisting programs: 52.5 percent

Social media: 50 percent

Dental society classifieds or advertisement: 40.5 percent

Used a staffing agency or recruiter: 23.2 percent

Dental-specific job matching site: 19.4 percent

Other: 0.5 percent
