SmileDirectClub and Align Technology are two competitors making a mark in the growth of clear aligner use in the dental industry.

Nashville, Tenn.-based SmileDirectClub will modify its advertising claims based on recommendations from the National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureau National Programs after being hit with challenges by two competitors. 

The National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureau National Programs recommended SmileDirectClub discontinue advertising claims comparing its fast-dissolving whitening strips to Crest Classic White Whitestrips.

Invisalign manufacturer Align Technology brought in $969.6 million during the second quarter of 2022, according to the company's financial report released July 27. 

Overjet will provide its artificial intelligence technology to dental practice management company Dental Whale, serving more than 20,000 practices.

The National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureau National Programs recommended SmileDirectClub modify its advertising claims about the cost of its treatment compared to Invisalign.
