Two more states are looking to join the Dentist and Dental Hygienist Compact, while participation in the compact was recently challenged in another state. 

Irving, Texas-based Specialized Dental Partners has added San Gabriel Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery to its network. 

Legislation has been introduced in the Utah House of Representatives to prohibit water fluoridation in the state, KUTV reported Jan. 30.

City officials in Longview, Camas and Battle Ground, Wash., are currently considering ending water fluoridation in their communities as national debate about the practice continues, Oregon Public Broadcasting reported Jan. 28.
