A DSO that plans to expand the use of artificial intelligence technology at its practices and four other AI updates that have taken place in the dental industry since July 6:

Here are four federal updates affecting dentistry since Dec. 4:

A new organization was recently launched to support people of color in the DSO field. 

New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Dental365 and Dallas-based MB2 Dental recently added their first practices in two new states. 

The average dental school debt is $308,200, compared to $250,990 for medical graduates.

New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based DSO Dental365 supports 110 practices across New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.

A former Texas dentist who was convicted for a dental procedure that left a child with brain damage received a five-year probation sentence, The Houston Chronicle reported Sept. 14. 

Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Imagen Dental Partners recently added two practices in California and Texas. 

Waltham, Mass.-based 42 North Dental recently partnered with the Massachusetts Dental Society to develop a leadership program for its supported dental professionals.

A healthcare coalition recently filed a ballot measure for the November 2024 election that would permanently expand funding for California’s Medi-Cal program.
