13 US dental schools ranked among best in the world

University of Michigan-Ann Arbor was ranked as the top dental school in the world by QS World University Rankings.

One hundred schools were ranked based on academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations per paper, H-index and international research network. 

Here are the 13 U.S. dental schools included in the top 50 of the rankings and their score out of 100:

1. University of Michigan-Ann Arbor: 89.2

9. University of California, San Francisco: 83.3

10. Harvard University (Cambridge, Mass.): 82.7

15. University of California, Los Angeles: 79.8

19. University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill: 79.1

20. University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia): 77.9

21. University of Washington (Seattle): 77.6

26. New York University (New York CIty): 75.8

27. Tufts University (Medford, Mass.): 75.1

38. University of Iowa (Iowa City): 73.6

45: Columbia University (New York City): 72.4

47. Boston University: 72.1

50. The Ohio State University (Columbus): 71.8
