53 US dental schools ranked among best in the world in 2022

Fifty-three dental schools in the U.S. are ranked among the best in the world, according to an annual ranking from ShanghaiRanking Consultancy, a higher education research organization. 

The 2022 list ranks 300 dental schools from around the world. ShanghaiRankings used several indicators and third-party data to create the ranking, including research output, research influence, international collaboration, research quality and international academic awards. 

Here are 53 U.S. dental schools included on the list and their rankings:

Note: New York University and the University of Pittsburgh both ranked at No. 17. Only the top 50 schools were ranked individually. Some universities have dental programs and not dental schools.
