Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to create its annual ranking. Statista surveyed 45,000 Americans working for companies with 1,000 to 5,000 U.S.-based employees. Survey participants were asked if they would recommend their employer to friends and family. The final list ranks 500 midsize employers that received the most recommendations.
