13 US dental schools included in top 50 of world rankings

University of Michigan-Ann Arbor was ranked as the top school for dentistry in the world by QS World University Rankings.

The rankings included 12 other U.S. dental schools alongside University of Michigan. 

Schools were ranked based on five categories: academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations per paper, H-index and international research network. Read more on the methodology here

1. University of Michigan-Ann Arbor: 84.2

6. University of California, San Francisco: 80.2

11. Harvard University (Cambridge, Mass.): 77.5

18. University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill: 73.1

19. University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia): 73

20. University of California, Los Angeles: 72.9

23. New York University (New York City): 71.7

24. University of Washington (Seattle): 71.1

39. The Ohio State University (Columbus): 67.8

39. Tufts University (Medford, Mass.): 67.8

39. University of Iowa (Iowa City): 67.8

45. Columbia University (New York City): 67.3

49. University atBuffalo (N.Y.): 66.6
