Cost of living in the top-paying cities for orthodontists

Rochester, N.Y., is the top-paying metropolitan area for orthodontists, with a mean annual wage of $229,560, according to compensation data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. 

The cost of living for a single adult with no children in the area is $32,995, according to Cambridge-based Massachusetts Institute of Technology's living wage calculator.
