Percentage of adults who do not visit the dentist in the best states for dental health

Less than 29 percent of adults in Wisconsin, the best state for dental health, have visited the dentist in the past year. 

Data on the percentage of adults who have not seen a dentist in the last year was collected as part of personal finance site WalletHub's "2023's Best & Worst States for Health Care" ranking, which was published July 31. 

The rankings for the best states for dental health were published by WalletHub on Feb. 1. 

More adults have seen a dentist over the past year in the best states for dental health compared to the percentages in the worst states.

Here is the percentage of adults who have not visited the dentist in the past year in the top 10 states for dental health:

1. Wisconsin: 28.8 percent

2. Illinois: 31.6 percent

3. District of Columbia: 32.1 percent

4. Minnesota: 30.9 percent

5. Connecticut: 27.5 percent

6. North Dakota: 33.8 percent

7. Michigan: 31.3 percent

8. Idaho: 32.8 percent

9. Massachusetts: 27.1 percent

10. Ohio: 34.9 percent
