California has the most general dentists out of all U.S. states, according to data from KFF.

The health policy nonprofit recorded the number of active dentists in seven categories, including general dentistry, oral surgery and orthodontics.

Texas: 12,796

New York: 10,685

Florida: 9,338

Illinois: 7,138

Wyoming: 264

Vermont: 272
