Dentists make $87.66 per hour in 2023 and are projected to earn $93.95 per hour in 2033, but that hourly rate is $73.94 when adjusted for inflation, for a decrease of $13.72 per hour.
The study analyzed historical earnings for 16 popular professions in the U.S. and projected hourly pay in 2033. The numbers were then inflation-adjusted using a 2.13% inflation rate, estimated by the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.
