43% of people visited a dentist in 2021

More than 43 percent of U.S. residents visited a dentist in 2021, according to data from the American Dental Association’s Health Policy Institute.

The November report collected the percentage of people who visited a dentist but did note that, due to the methodology, the figure is a slight underestimate.

Here is the percentage of people who visited the dentist in 2021 by age group:

All age groups: 43.3%

Children (ages 0-18): 50%

Adults (ages 19-64): 38.7%

Seniors ages 65+): 50%
