Percentage of adults using their dental insurance in each state

Michigan has the highest private insurance adult dental care utilization percentage of any state, with 68% utilization, according to data from the American Dental Association's Health Policy Institute. 

Overall, the U.S. has a combined 57% dental care utilization rate for adults with private insurance, which is defined as any individual between the ages of 21 and 64. 

Here is the percentage of adults with private insurance who saw a dentist in 2021 in all 50 states and the District of Columbia:
