The federal agency updated its salary data for dental jobs to reflect 2022 information on April 25.

The best-paying states for dental hygienists:

1. Alaska: $113,770

2. California: $111,580

3. Washington: $111,430

4. Oregon: $95,360

5. New Jersey: $94,610

The worst-paying states for dental hygienists:

1. Alabama: $53,870

2. Mississippi: $60,490

3. West Virginia: $64,280

4. Tennessee: $68,450

5. Michigan: $70,190
