Are dental assistants satisfied with their pay?

About 36% of dental assistants are dissatisfied or very dissatisfied with their total compensation, according to Dentalpost’s 2025 Dental Salary Survey Report.

Dentalpost surveyed 366 dental assistants to create this year’s report. The survey was conducted from October to November 2024. 

Here is how satisfied dental assistants were with their total compensation last year, including primary wages and salary, bonuses, commissions and benefits:

Very satisfied: 11%

Satisfied: 23%

Neutral: 30%

Dissatisfied: 27%

Very unsatisfied: 10%
