Are dental hygienists satisfied with their pay?

Fifty percent of hygienists were satisfied or very satisfied with their total compensation in 2024, according to Dentalpost’s 2025 Dental Salary Survey Report.

Dentalpost surveyed 2,230 dental hygienists to create this year’s report. The survey was conducted from October to November 2024. 

Here is how satisfied dental hygienists were with their total compensation last year, including primary wages and salary, bonuses, commissions, and benefits:

Very satisfied: 16.3%

Satisfied: 34%

Neutral: 24.7%

Dissatisfied: 19.8%

Very unsatisfied: 5.2%
