Most dentists are confident that the dental care economy will recover in six months.

This data comes from the American Dental Association and was gathered the week of Jan. 17. The survey asked the respondents to look ahead six months for each question. The response options included very confident, somewhat confident, neither confident nor skeptical, somewhat skeptical, and very skeptical.

Here is the percentage of dentists who are very confident to somewhat confident in the economic recovery of the dental care sector by specialty:

Orthodontics — 63.2 percent (38 respondents)

Pediatric dentistry — 67.9 percent (109 respondents)

Periodontics — 71.4 percent (42 respondents)

Prosthodontics — 60 percent (20 respondents)

Dentists in public health settings — 67.3 percent (107 respondents)
